Des Mahon
Managing Director
Des is recognised as a leading industry expert in procurement and contract management in both the public and private sectors.
He has extensive career experience, in the services industry working and living in France, the US and Ireland after graduating with a BSc. in Management Trinity College Dublin.
Des held senior operational and HR roles before being appointed Head of Sales for Aramark Ireland in 2004 where he had national responsibility for all lines of business, driving top-line growth through new business acquisition and client retention.
In October 2010, Des resigned from Aramark to create an independent, commercially focused procurement consultancy focusing on facilities and catering management services delivering cost savings, innovation and best practice directly to clients and in-house operators.
Des is an affiliated member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI).
Deirdre Breen
Procurement Consultant
Deirdre has 15 years of experience working in tender/bid management for small and large-scale projects.
A wealth of diverse experience in producing and managing tender documentation for catering, cleaning, facilities and workplace services
In-depth knowledge of each of the services sectors, including the competitive environment, from her management of a market CRM system.
Significant experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on a varied range of projects.
Deirdre also brings with her hands-on experience of managing catering operations and has a degree in culinary arts from DIT Cathal Brugha St.
Tim Owen
Catering Services Consultant
Tim has nearly 30 years’ experience in managing catering facilities operating at a senior level in Ireland and the UK.
Tim has led multiple catering teams across different sectors of the industry. Working in the UK with companies such as Shell, British Aerospace, Whitbread’s and as GM of Marlborough College. Tim was a Change Management Consultant specialising in catering contract review and remediation.
As the most recent, Tim was Director of Business Excellence leading the integration of commercial departments in the UK and Ireland into Global teams within a catering and facilities multi-national focusing on driving sales through ensuring delivery on customer and client.
The experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry, bringing with him an attention to detail that ensures catering service operations under his guidance will deliver on expectations.
Steven White
Senior Procurement Consultant – Facilities Management and Workplace Services
Steven has in excess of 25 years’ experience working at a senior level in the Facilities Management and Catering Services sector.
He has vast experience at both operational and commercial levels within Facilities Management (TFM) sector including all aspects of FM service delivery for Catering, Hard and Soft services.
Steven has a track record of aligning best commercial value with best service delivery for a wide range of blue-chip companies across Ireland having designed for over 100 different organisations in the public and private sectors, helping them optimise their workplace services.
Peter Murphy
Procurement Consultant – Facilities Management
With over 35 years experience working for the ESB leading diverse and complex projects in IT and Facilities Management, Peter devised, led and implemented a full strategic realignment and consolidation of facilities services delivery within the national utility.
As ESB’s Head of Facilities between 2011 and 2019, Peter successfully guided the organisation and its stakeholders to a full Integrated Facilities Management delivery model with quality, compliance, efficiency and value for money at its core.
Peter will work with the Authenticate team as a specialist advisor in Facilities Management strategy, adding learned experience, FM contract management expertise and a client-led perspective to our solution.
Michael Boylan
Senior Procurement Consultant
Michael is an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain professional with almost 30 years of experience held in Buying, Senior Portfolio Management and Head of Procurement positions.
Michael’s experience spans across the Banking, Construction, IT, Telecoms, and Food Retail sectors where he has managed significant breadth and mix of direct and indirect spend portfolios rising to an annual spend under management of close to €0.5bn annually.
Michael has a proven track record in strategic sourcing methodologies and techniques including category strategy development, supplier selection and contracting, and post contract management including ongoing category management and supplier relationship management. He is also a respected procurement coach and trainer.
Michael holds a Masters in Strategic Procurement Management (University of South Wales), a Diploma in Digital Marketing (C.P.D.M.), and is a Certified Supply Management Professional (C.P.S.M.).
Tom Murphy
Procurement Consultant and Project Manager – Catering Services
Tom has over 20 years Senior Management experience in the Foodservice and Catering sector. Tom brings significant, operational, commercial and technical expertise to the Authenticate team through his extensive experience managing large teams and food-service businesses in the contract catering, retail and hospitality sectors.
In Toms most recent role as Director for Operations and Development at KC Peaches he led a large retail and catering business implementing a strategic growth plan which resulted in the acquisition and opening of new properties and brands within the group while consolidating standards and ways of working throughout the group.
While working with Aramark Northern Europe Tom held the role of Project Manager where he was responsible for mobilising over 50 new catering and retail site openings over a 2-year period in the Island of Ireland. In doing so Tom worked with several well-known National and International Food brands where he ensured their respective brand standards were executed seamlessly.
